How do I drive a three speed manual transmission?

Question:
I just bought a '77 chevy half ton at an auction, and it's "three in the tree" and i have absoutely no idea how to drive it. I have a '99 chevy silverado with a 5-speed manual. Is it similar to floor mounted shifters or completely different, i searched the web and i didnt find much info on this topic.

START OUT IN FIRST. 1ST GEAR IS ---PULL TOWARDS YOU and slide the shifter in an upwared motion. when Rpms are rapping up, push in the clutch then--- 2nd gear---then pull towards and downward. then ----3rd gear----push in the clutch and push towards the dash , but gently and glid the shifter down. and there is your three. hope this helped!
