black shows EVERY single body flaw, no matter how small. And it makes them look BIG. So, body work and prep for a black paint job, done RIGHT, can run several grand. Thats where the cost is in black paint. The paint itself runs about 100 bucks a gallon for a good acrylic enamel. Of course there is pimer and surfacer which are also pricey.The best polyurathanes are 200 bucks a gallon. Any of it will look like CRAP when sprayed over a careless prep job. You sure you want black?
