What car would you suggest?

Question:
I am beginning a new job as a territory sales rep (Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana) and I am trying to decided on a what used car I should buy.
I need to focus in space, ease of use, RELIABILITY and it needs to be dependable in SNOW! I would prefer not get an SUV but rather a sedan. The car also needs to be around the 15-17k range for a used one. Any thoughts or opinions?

Caprice performance tweaks?

Make sure you don't get a RWD (Rear-wheel drive) car because it can get crazy on snow. The Subaru the other person recommended should be a good bet if you are paranoid about control. The Accord, Camry, Civic should be just fine too if you don't drive too fast as they are FWD cars.

Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, or Subaru Legacy. All of these should fit your needs, although I'd prefer the Accord myself.

Do Hybrid cars cost an average of $2,500 to $3,000 more ?

A crossover is a safe bet, but don't rule out an SUV either. Figure out what you'll be carrying and how much of a gas bill that you can tolerate. You need something that can go the distance and still ride comfortably. I would suggest a larger car as well. Since you're going to be on the highway, a four-cylinder isn't going to be much of an advantage and may be a liability due to the noise level. This could be a Ford Taurus, Chevy Impala or a Toyota Camry.

Which Dual exhaust improves my performance and yet doesn't lower gas milage.?

Look at a Hyundai Sonata. You should be able to find a 2006 for around 15-17K with less than 20,000 miles. The best part is the car will have the balance of the 5year/60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, and the 5 year unlimited miles 24hr Roadside Assistance Warranty.
