Does my 2006 Porsche Boxster have a tracking chip??

Question:
I have no way to explain it other than Porsche has placed tracking chips on their vehicles, but I moved 300 miles away from St. augustine to Tampa, and out of the blue now I have a Tampa Porsche dealership mailing me stuff about my Boxster (service, etc). Anyone know about this or why it might be happening? I am very careful about filling things out, and I'm certainly not trying to hide from anyone, but it was rather thought provoking, without my prompting anything, to start getting mailings from a local Porsche dealership.

Why do you love your BMW?

If you have changed your address, then it's a good chance that they have updated their records to match. I bought a 2001 Toyota Celica a few years back and have since sold it. After I sold it, I moved to a new house and recieved a call from the Toyota Dealership asking me how my car was doing and whether or not I wanted to trade it in. Your address is public record, and when you change it, All of your mail is forwarded until the senders files have been updated with the changes. If you move, your mail will still be addressed to your old address with a yellow strip saying that it is forwarded, eventually, the post office will send out a notice to the sender that you are no longer at that address. No cars have a chip that can be tracked other than Low-Jack, having such a chip installed legally would mean that the dealership would have to tell you that it is there, otherwise it becomes an invasion of privacy. There are many laws that prevent tracking chips from being installed in your car without you knowing. To know for sure, contact any Porsche dealer and ask, if there is one they have to tell you.

I'm having trouble with smooth acceleration with my 2005 Audi S4. I think it's the DBW. Anyone familiar?

No, they are not equipped with tracking chips out of the factory. The only way that this could have happened (I think) is that Porsche shares information with its dealerships, so if Porsche knows you've moved, the dealerships will too.

The other possibility is that they found out through DMV records.

My 06 rubicon has like a power surge when i let off the gas the engine keeps reving like the pedel is stuck??

when you moved did you notify your post office? Even if they had a tracking thing on their vehicles, lets say you moved into an apartment how would they know what apartment number you lived in to send you mail. So lets just say its not the car.
Did you maybe also just recently take your car in for service at one of the local dealerships?
Sometimes the post office forwards your mail to your new address and also notifies the sender of your new address.
