He's right, it just changes the shift points. The only way you are going to notice the difference is on the highway. If you press the button then it might shift to a lower gear (rev higher)

These guys are right. I just wanted to add that the Power button is a waste. I had the same button in an old 1991 Laser, and it does just as they have said. It gives the illusion of more power by altering the shift points in normal driving speeds. If you put your foot to the floor in either mode, the vehicle accelerates the same way. Therefore, the button is a waste. I'd recommend driving with the button off at all times. Pressing it doesn't give you any more power. If you need more power, just push on the gas pedal a bit harder.these guys are right the button is a joke. if you tow a trailer or are driving through the mountains though they make the vehicle shift points better for those application.
