Answers:
Anyone know a good place to get parts for 1985 Chevy K10 pickup?
I don't think you have to take it to the dealer. Have you looked in your owner's manual? The remote/key for my Benz is about a 2 minute process, described in the owner's manual. I cannot believe that Daimler Chrysler would let Benz owners program their own remotes, but not Chrysler owners. What does torque mean in car terms..........?
Contact the dealership, or a shop that has a DRB. It's not something you are going to do yourself.StarScan only.
But why the key became de-programmed is another issue, some people do radio modifications or mess around with the skreem module and it gets expenssive...
You need to ake the keys to a chrysler or dodge dealer. They will use the "star scan" diagnostic tool to programe the keys. If its new key there will e no problem. If the keys have become unprogrammed then the dealer will have to check why. These cars do have troubles with the steering lock and skim modules.
