I had a 3.0 sport diesel auto and it did about 25 to the gallon, i think 19 is about right for the petrol, depends on how you drive it suppose.Note: i got rid of the X5 had nothing but problems with it, just to make you aware. It was only 3 yrs old, FSH by BMW and just out of warranty when this happened:-
