Question:
my truck wont start without dumping gas in the intake, it will then start and run/drive fine. i tested the pump and it only has 40psi. iunderstand it takes 59psi. my understanding is, it requires more fuel pressure to start the engine than required to run and drive the truck? because my problem now is backwards than ive had before, i replaced the fuel pump twice in the last 3 years, both times it would start fine but after running it would starve for fuel and bog or stall. if i didnt have enough psi to run/drive then, why would it start? and now why wont it start, but it will run/drive fine when dumping gas in the intake to get it started?

FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. Check into it.
Which will be the best C-segment car for a first time buyer(In this segment)??
check for a hole in the lines , a clogged fuel filter or a kinked fuel line. if thats not it put some injecter cleaner in the tank and then check the pressure regulatorIt is very important to change your fuel filter every time you change the pump. It is also important to change fuel filter every 25,000 mi. On some gm pumps you only have to change the pump and not the sending unit, but on others you have to change them both. On the ones you just change the pump you need to check the wiring it buns up in the connecter at the top of the sending unit. It is also helpful to not let the fuel level drop below a quarter tank of gas, because the gas helps keep the pump cool.
Changing a Transmission...What is involved?
try leave the key at 'ON' position for 10second then start.. if do fine..re-wired the fuel pump to IG position not the START position at key switch.. and add a relay to it..when in IG post it will give the pump time to properly fill the the fuel rail..
Plugged fuel filter.Or vacuum leak in or at the fuel pressure regulator.
