I have an old Peugeot 106 "M" reg with a problem with the immobiliser?

Question:
When I lock the car with the key fob the immobiliser activates, but when I try to open the doors on the key fob they won't open. If I undo the doors manually the immobiliser won't disarm. Does anyone know what the problem might be and the way to fix.
