Question:
Short question: If I bought a ford focus 2003 (in 2003) what would the mileage/year limits be on regular and powertran warranty?
Long question: I need a shifter cable for my 5-speed manual 2.0L ZX5. Nobody seems to have it, even junk yards (evidently, they just cut through the cable in order to salvage more valued parts). Dealer claims it's on national back order (and been that way since Dec 2006). My car has 75K miles on it. Any chance this could still be under warranty (i.e. I might get a free rental out of this)? Without this part, I'm stuck in 2nd geer. The ford part number is 2s4z-7e395-fc. I'm just hoping somebody might help me with the warranty question (the warranty info is in the glovebox in the car with my local mechanic). Help?
Answers:
Ethol is correct on the 5 year 100k mile warranty and it's time periods...
Ford will only cover warranty rentals up to 5 or 10 days that is it. (and this is the car is unuseable in such as your case and only on a part warrantied by them)
I just know about the vehicle tyre pressure of each size commenly used in various type of vehicles?
Ford can expedite (means make it one of the first on the list) unless it has absoulutely none anywheres. (But to get this, the vehicle either has to be under warranty or an extra fee paid for this)
Another thing is to talk to the selling dealer who may want to help you out more... Your best bet in getting it fixed may be to bring it to a Ford dealer and deal with them on this.
Where do i find the knock sensor for a 2001 chevy truck?
I believe in 2003 it was 50K.. Now with the newer models its 100k..Are 2002 v6 mustangs good cars? will they last long?
Warranty on a '03 was 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever comes 1st. Sorry, you are out of luck on getting it fixed under warranty. Call Fords customer service hot line. Maybe they can direct you to a dealer who has a shift cable in stock. Is the 96 honda civic ex a d series engine?
Try this link, it's the owner manual for your vehicle and in it, it'll state what is covered, not covered, and for how long. Not sure which year it was, but Ford extended (just for the Focus model) the warranty to 5yrs/100K to instill trust since the first Foci's had some recalls. Now the loner powertrain warranty is standard at 5yrs/60K miles for all Ford vehicles. What benefits do Toyota dealers get from the STAR program?
Hope this helps... :-)

I hope that your "local mechanic" is employed at a Ford dealership. Because then he could find out through 'oasis' if your vehicle was purchased during the period when Ford had a promotion in 2003 that gave new Focus owners an Extended Powertrain Warranty (100,000 miles). It (the promotional ESP) does not appear in the warranty booklet : {{ 2003 warranty book:: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/co... }} included with your owners manuals, but would have been a separate warranty contract that you would have signed & been given a copy of.
Your contracts & paperwork should be at home or in a safe place, not in your glovebox.
Whats your favourite by each brand?
The promotion was ONLY on Focuses & was NOT available for the entire model year.
The Following year (2004) Ford made the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty STANDARD on Focuses:{{ 2004 warranty book::
http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/co... }}
If you did purchase during the "promo" period, running your vehicle identification number through the Ford Dealer Oasis program will show it. & then your local Ford dealer can honor it.
If your mechanic is not a Ford dealer , I doubt that they can get Ford to cover it at all.
In any case I don't think (I could be wrong) that the warranty included a free rental car.
