Not unusual. An alternator doesn't put it's maximum at idle. However, the battery should be better than that. Check the battery voltage with the engine off and at idle then again with the engine at high idle. With the engine off the battery should read above 12 Volts. If it's below 12 it either isn't fully charged or has a weak cell(s). At idle the battery should read somewhat higher than shut off as the alternator is providing some boost. AT high idle the battery should read 13 Volts or better, if the alternator is functioning normally. If you're not sure or don't have a meter, go to an auto parts store and ask for a battery and alternator test. Your alternator is operating at peak output when revved up. There's nothing wrong with the vehicle.1- why are some of these people so f****** rude.
