Ignore the above poster. There are TONS of mods for the LT1 engine.Visual firing order for Chevy s-10 blazer 4.3 vortec?
I can direct you to some free mods, but most of the real horsepower gainers are going to cost you some money. The engine itself is a neutered version of the engine in the Corvettes. The way it is neutered is breathing - air intake and exhaust. To start with, upgrade the air intake to either a cold air system or some form of Ram Air. From there, I'd recommend headers/Y-pipe/catback system. Not only will this add some horsepower (and sound better), but it will make your future mods work better. Bottom line, the engine needs air. Start with those mods. From there on, it only gets more expensive.

E-mail me if you want some detailed suggestions. I have a 1994 Z28 that I have been building up for over 5 years now. It started off bone-stock, like yours, but now it is well over 700 hp. I can tell you some things to look into, and definitely some items to avoid.

Happy modding!
i own a shop, and you can use a power chip in the computer that will help it a lot, also a good exhaust system will help it also, and you can get performance injectors for that one that will really help it a lot,you can gain an easy 35-45 horse power on this one without spending a small fortune on it,good luck with it,i hope his helps.
there are very few upgrades for the lt1. theyre already highly modified. there are no cheap parts that will do anything significant. the gearing ratio will get the power to the wheels much more quickly, but they will have to be replaced more often.
