It's unnerving and dangerous. I had an induction cleaning done and it still stalls. Someone said it could be my ignition. Has anyone had this problem with a Volvo? What solved it?

I own a shop, and I would suggest having it ran up on a computer to see what's going on. Most vehicles has a IAC sensor (Idle control solenoid) that keeps the idle or low speed rpm's up to what it should be. The thing I'm drawn to is the throttle position sensor, as these are more prone to wear out than the IAC. What must be done is; pull the codes, see what is wrong, and replace the part that is faulty. There is just no way to tell what it is, and guessing can get pretty expensive. It could even be something wrong with the EGR valve sticking, so you can see its just not one single thing that can be repaired easily. You must find the problem part, and replace it.Glad to help out, Good Luck!

highest probability is the constant idle motor itself these Bosch units do-not lend themselves to cleaning very well and replacement is usually the best answer.the throttle position sensors on these cars are not prone to failure although it should be tested first [typical output is about 0.9 volt at closed throttle to approx 4.5 volts at wide open throttle with no dropouts [smooth steady increase in voltage] NOTE TEST WITH KEY ON ENGINE OFF. goodluckCalm down boy's don't just jump in here, what model Volvo do you have,,that's the most important question here!!

idle adjustment screws but before you touch it go to the local library look it up and get a copy of the page for like 10 cents....good news you have one of two things i guarantee it will fix your problem 1-you have a dirty throttle body right where the throttle blade and the throttle body meet when resting in the closed position and this happens alot with our volvos at the shop; another very important thing is if you contact your local volvo delearship and give them your information of your volvo :year,make,model and vin # ask them if there are any open recalls if there is A RECALL 155 that can fix your problem. it is a software upgrade for your vehicles throttle and engine contol module if that didt fix it becuse the throttle body itself is acually bad they can replace it under a special volvo warranty that volvo created for vehicles with this problem as long as your car does not have over 200,000 miles they will warranty it and you do not have to pay dime for that or the software upgrade(recall 155),so let me know if that helps ya,have a nice day
