Question:
I had a Dodge Durango 04 with 40,000 miles on it. I have taken it in for every service need Oil changes, tire rotations, the big inspection that just cost me $600. I had no idea about the recall that was anounced on March 9 2007, but found out about it on March 15, when my durango burned down to the ground in our driveway. I was furious to find out that Dodge is not even trying to contact owners until April. Even though they know what is happening. The instrument panel box is overheating and starting a fire. It has happened to 66 other Durango's . If you have a Durango I would take extreme caution, especially if you have kids. My car was running fine, I had no warning at all. The warning sign's are problems with the overhead lights they wont dim or turn on by themselves (basically acts possesed). My kid's turn the light on all the time so I would not have noticed, but definately would have watched for it, if I would have known. I will never buy another dodge, ever..

I have an 04 Durango and I had to bring it in for something else about a week ago and asked about the recall and the dealership hadn't even heard very much about it and don't know which ones are effected in the recall until Chrysler releases the info. That's such BS I agree!!! I'm glad that you didn't have any other problems though because mine has been in and out of the shop since I bought it and it only has 24,000 miles on it. It's up for sale know and I'm having trouble selling it :( Not to mention I'm loosing so much money on it because they loose value so fast!! I will NEVER buy a dodge again as well. I suggest a Toyota 4-runner that's what I'm looking into. I'm glad that you guys are all safe and you don't owe anything!! Good luck I wish you the best!!Adding central locking to a 1995 N-Reg Renault Clio?
yes. the media has all he information before the dealers do on recalls. I am sorry that you have had this problem with your vehicle. I will inform you though it is NOT just a Dodge or Crysler corp. problem. Recalls plague every car manufacturer there is. When you buy another car don't be surprised if there is just as many recalls. To be honest, Chrysler has stepped up and mad cars safer that the other American car companies with fewer recalls. No one is perfect. It is unfortunate that you have to be a statistic, but it is also why we have recalls. I wish you better luck on your next purchase.because in today's market..that's all it is .luck.More Questions & Answers ...
