I was looking at the toyota fj and the jeep wranglers. the only thing that would stop me from getting the fj is that i cant figure out if it was lockers in front and back like the jeep wrangler does anyone know?? and is there anything else the jeep has that the fj does not or vice versa?

as far as reliability is concern, again, these morons know nothing about the platform the fj was built on, the NEW 4.0 is just to new to be judged. but knowing toyota's standards that are way way higher than any manufacturer, it's gotta be good. if you go to any harsh environment outside the US continent, you'll see toyotas more than

The FJ is a soccermom's wannabe offroad vehicle. As for lockers, the FJ has rear locking differential available but no front locker. You can have those installed in any vehicle. The FJ is too new to predict reliablility. The FJ is full time 4WD without a 2WD option.

The Jeep Wranglers, come with either Command Trac, or Rock Trac 4WD with 2WD 4H, Neutral, and 4L. The Rock trac is the ultra low geared low range transfer case, while the command trac is a standard low range transfer case. The jeep Rubicon (if your looking for a factory ready and capable offroad vehicle) has front and rear lockers from the factory engaged by pressing a button in the cab 1 time for rear locker, and 2 times for front and rear locker. I drove one a couple years ago, they ride great, drive great, and are extremely low geared in 4WD low range.
The jeep 4.0L inline 6 engines are bulletproof, and pretty reliable, and so are the transmissions, nevermind the constant reliability claims on here, those claims are from people that never have their vehicle's maintenance done. When properly maintained these engines and transmissions give very long lives, my 96 grand cherokee has 193,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. Still runs strong, doesn't smoke or use oil between oil changes. The Jeep wrangler and Cherokee's use the same engine so torque and speed have nothing to do with the vehicle. 195HP is plenty to get you from 0-60 pretty quick, I think about 12 seconds. Its not a race car, but they will climb pretty much anything.

its more of a taste thing.. jeep wranglers are usually cheaper.. and the best way to tell what you want is to test drive one. the new wrangles have come along way form the first jeeps both with on and off road capability. whether you are looking at a tj wrangler or a new jk wrangler neither is laking power. unless you buy a 4bangerjeep there is no lake of power.From a female's perspective I will tell you that an FJ ( we're talking a new one right?!) is going to get it's *butt* beat by a Wrangler any day of the week. Now, are we talking old ones? Go FJ. You can modify the *crap* out of them!
