Question:
ok lets try this, if the mustang is a 91 LX 5.0 with a stock engine and my 85 monte carlo ss has flat top pistons, 650 edelbrock carberator, the cylinders are bored .30 over and it has a high performance camshaft and both the cars are goin on a straight 1/2 mile runway while both cars are in perfect condition, which do you think would win?

Question reg. steering in Honda Accord 2004?
It doesn't matter if the SS is a little souped up. .030 over doesn't add horsepower regardless if it's a 305. Don't let people fool you into thinking boring an engine .030 over adds noticeable horsepower. The only difference is in the extra 5 cubic inches you added, which are still breathing through the same heads. If you added a cam and 650 carb, it's still not going to make a big difference. The 650 carb isn't any bigger than the Quadrajet that was on the car originally, although maybe a little better carb. Sorry, but the Monte Carlo weighs 800 lbs more than the Mustang, and it would take alot of horsepower over the 5.0 to make up the difference. The Mustang has one hell of a performance advantage. Even in the 1/2 mile, it doesn't make a difference. Torque gets you out of the hole quicker if you can hook it up, but horsepower and weight ratio along with aerodynamics wins in the long run. The Mustang has an advantage in both departments. The Mustang would run 144 MPH stock in 1991. The Monte Carlo won't do that without ALOT of horsepower. The Grand Nationals were great, but don't let that fool you into thinking the SS was an equal in ANY form. The "245" horsepower Buick rated them at was not even close to accurate to what they really were putting out. I love them and the SS (although somewhat less), but the SS can't hang with the Mustang. The GN will walk away from both stock, but it's a TOTALLY different car than the SS.Why R U racing a half mile/ your carlo will eat the mustang.
Does the 2007 honda accord have a keyless entry feature?
from a dead start, The mustang would have you in the 1/4 mile, the larger Montecarlo engine CID (350)would allow for it to overtake the stang by a bit at the 1/2 mile mark.Does anyone know about the reliability of a Ford F150 with a 4.2 V6, manual tranny?
Keep in mind that the stang is lighter and has 300 ft lbs of torque.that is amazing for a 5.0L!!
If you have a 5.0L, it'll be close.
How do you change the jets on a 2000 jeep.v-8.easy or hard to do?
Does your Monte have a basic 305 with the mods, or a 350 with the mods? Have you changed the rear axle ratio? How is the transmission? If your Monte is in good shape, and not crippled by too deep a highway rear end, you should be able to run close with the 305, and with the 350, should be able to dust the Mustang. If not, either your setup is wonky in some department, or the Stang is hiding something...Good luck.
Does anyone know where I can find a Silvia S15 Widebody Conversion for a '96 240sx?
I have an 88 5.0 LX 5-speed. I have raced modified SS Monte Carlo's. I usually 1/2 track them in the 1/8 mile. The Mustang will hook better than the non-weight transfering Monte Carlo. The Mustang is over 400lbs lighter than the SS and is more aerodynamic.
My money is on the Mustang. Especially if it is a 5-speed.
How do you switch off mobilizer for honda civic 2dr 95 reg its not starting?
I take you both on.87 Buick Grand National. I have a highly modified 90 LX Mustang 5.0 ( Don't ask me why) It can't touch the Buick. Have had a Monte SS and knowing how slow they are.If that's all you have done to it. I'm afraid I have to give the Muskrat the edge.good race but if the mustang is running really good and no problems it will take you. There light car and smaller wheel base plus they grip really well. Sorry the stang probley get you on a 1/4 mile but the 1/2 I dont now you might get em.
