Bronco II valve cover gaskets. Do I need a sealant?

Question:
I need to replace my valve cover gaskets. I bought some cork gaskets, cleaned the area around where the gaskets go and even prepped and painted the outside of the valve covers but know I am ready to put them back on and was wondering if I have to or if I should put some kind of sealer on the gaskets before I put them in place. If so, what kind of sealer?

Answers:

no,not on cork gaskets, they will seal up good,if you put any sealant on them they wont seal up good luck with it.

You can put a little sealant on to help hold the gaskets in place.
