Question:
I'm trying to make a simulator using a resistor, and it works fine for the front sensor, but the rears behind where the cat used to be wasn't tested for voltage first. This is the one that heats up, heater o2 sensor or post-cat sensor. If anyone knows the voltage please reply. Thanks!

How do you properly install a car seat into a 1989 chevy s-10 blazer?
the voltage for either O2 sensor should be about the same, approx. 5v +/- .5v, but the actual reading of the sensors is only .5-4.5v, the manufacturers leave over 4.5 and under .5v for dtc's to engage. so the operating voltage for O2 sensors = .5v - 4.5v, as far as buiding a simulator, a simple mulitmeter will work just as good.Does the 1999 Volkswagen Cabrio have anti-lock brakes?
Most heated O2 sensors use battery voltage, but post cat O2 do not usually have a heater, they are used to measure cat efficiency,if the cat fails it will not heat the O2 above 600 degrees farenheit therefore it will not come on lineMore Questions & Answers ...
