Question:
and now a week later we have a problem with the flapper falpping like it's trying to change from heat to air but it won't, the air doesn't work on ly heat. We took it to a mechanic and he says the part that they have had trouble with this model is trouble to get to and he will have to pull the steering column, dash and all and it will take 5 hours to get to and cost will be $1000, probly most of that labor. Can anyone give me any better ideas on what this is? Help me machanics out there

Try several other dealers or repair shops you can get it fix for a lot less then that shop around. And the person freddiem is stupid all cars have problems I have owned Lincolns for over twenty years and never had a A/C problems but it can happen to any car. Your probelm is common on those Towncars it would have been something to have checked out before you buy.

How would you know if you have a bad engine control system in a 96 jeep grand cherokee?

Dump it. I know two people who got their '98s returned under the MD lemon law. This many years down the road, there can't be much good to say about those cars. Tip of the iceberg. Good luck.

What the deference in 95 4.6 lincoln and 96?

The only elite part is that you need an elite bank acct to maintain the car. I would trade it in. I have an 88 Honda Civic and the A/C still works fine. Ford parts are not engineered to last, they are very poor quality.
