Question:
I want to put a cab, engine, and auto tranny and transfer case on top of a 2 1/2 ton military frame and axles. This will make a more user-friendly firetruck for our ranch's use. (the stock military has a sorry cab and no auto). However, I know some transmissions require feedback from the rear differential. I will still have the speed sensor on the transfer case, but can't use the rear sensor, b/c it will be replaced by the tandems from the military. Will this still work and how can I make it work better? I am using a 1990 F-350 and also have another tran from a 1992 F-350. I think they are both E4 overdrives. I have built these firetrucks before with 5 tons and married an over-the-road truck to it, but they have manual trannies.

Which car shall i get , ford puma or ford focus?
I can't remember if the internals are exactly different or what, but you may want to find a AOD instead... no electronics and is basically the mechanical version of the E4OD. Uses vaccum from the motor to shift... if not find a c-6 which even though it's a 3 speed (no overdrive) no electrics. What does the sti have that the wrx doesn't?
If I remember, the oil pan (the way it's shaped) tells what it is, if that will help you...
How do i tighten the steering colomn on my 1991 chevy silverado?
But on your question, I think if it doesn't see an input from the rear speed sensor, it will use the Output shaft speed sensor.. or there should be ways to rig something in the transfer case to read it from there (all it needs is a speed signal... I can't remember exactly what it wants but I think a older version stuck in the transfer case may work)
How many more miles can i get out of a 1997 honda accord that already has 250,ooo kilometors on it?
Without all the inputs the e4od will not work properly because its an electronicly controlled trans.VW Bettle Users Please help me out!?
no it wont work the torque converter wont lock up and dont get a aod tranny they junk get a c6 with a new tc2001 Ford Focus Wagon a couple of questions.?
in plan and simple words. NO the E40D will not work with out the use of the computer system.. all the shift solenoids and pwm solenoids in it will not work. as for the AOD that is not a good unit to run in a heavy vehicle application for the tendancy to burn up easily. the best trans to use out side of a manuel would be the C-6 if you want to keep an overdrive there is this site that you could get an add on o/d pack to put on it. http://gearvendors.com/ hope this helps you out and good luck.More Questions & Answers ...
