Lincoln Mark VIII?

Question:
What part or system can be at faulted on my car -Lincoln Mark VIII, who suddenly rise to 2200-2500 r.p.m. and does not change the gears? The Reverse is working, but the check engine light is on. It is a Lincoln with 126.000 miles at board, could it be a vacuum leak? how can I check?

sounds like it is dropping out of overdrive on you down to third or the torque converter is slipping unless it does this while driving at slow speeds or at idle then you may have computer module problem or a sensor bad. No way to know I and all others will only be guessing it sounds like its time to head to the dealer.

I am sorry, but I had a lincoln V111 and always had trouble with it. If there was an inch of snow it would get stuck. I always had problems with the electrical and would never recommend that car to any one. ...,.Rightnow is right, it was rear wheel drive, I couldn't get any traction.

First someone should tell MAXHOUND that Mark VIII are not front drive cars. I have had one for several years and live in snow area and if you know how to drive they are fine not as good as a SUV in the snow mind you but they go. Your problem could be anything you might want to take to a garage and have it checked out.
