Just make sure it is not a 2.7, these motors are notorious for blowing, if it has that many miles it has obviously been replaced, but it may be time again. If it has the 3.5 it will run forever. If the maintenance has been kept up, it can still be a good vehicle. The 1999 version had a lousy track record with its air conditioning, often needing condensor work. Keep an eye on the transmission, they were a touch soft. As with anything with that many miles, looks can be ok, but seriously expect to set aside some funds to cover possible major repairs soon. Timing belt/chain failure can be a big loss in that engine, so have that inspected for sure. Good luck.if it's a 3.5 liter, it will run to at least 200,000 miles.

Thats nothing. my Dads Intrepid just passed 300K. it dosent burn or leak any oil at all.. just take care of the car and always change the oil every 3K miles.More Questions & Answers ...
