Question:
I have a 98 Dodge Caravan and today when I started it, it ran rough, and stalled everytime I came to a stop. The only reason I can think it would do this is because it is around 15 degrees farenhiet but I let the van warm up, and when I ran it this morning it did not stall at all and it was around -5 degress! I poped the hood and it seems that the shaky sound is just the exhuast rattling, because it seems to be emmited from under the van, and when I grabbed the throttle body and reved the van up to around 4500 rpm's the shakyness stopped and it ceased stalling. Is it because the van is cold, or something else. The van has a 3.3 litre V6 fuel injected with around 140,000 miles on it. Thanks to those that answer!! Your help is aprecitated!

Did the check engine light come on and stay on? You'll need to have the computer scanned if it did. The computer scan will allow you to pinpoint the area at fault. Hope this helps, Jess. You probably need to clean the throttle body, more than likely it is gummed up with carbon and is restricting the minimum air flow and causing it to run rough and stall. hope this helps
