2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLS.. electrical problems??

Question:
I purchased a used (obviously... 4 years old now) Jetta in November. No more than a week after I purchased it, did it start having electrical problems. I am not sure if it is just a short, or if there is actually some major problems going on. Whenever I turn (left, or right) using my signals... before my blinker is actually on, it sounds like it is blinking 100 mph... and the blinkers are not out, I have had my b/f follow me and check. Also, my door ajar light flashes off and on as well as both of my dome lights in my back seat, both driver and passenger side. Is this something common with the make/model or year of my vehicle? Does anyone know what it is that is causing this problem, or what I can do to fix the problems? It's really annoying, especially when I am driving down the road and for no reason it sounds like I am using my broken blinker when I am not using a blinker at all and it's not broken! Please give me some answers you yahooers! Thank you! :)

Welcome to the life of a vw jetta owner.
You need to fix the control arm and relay. The relay/blinker will solve the problem most of the time, but eventually youre going to end up with "ghost flashing". The turnsignals will start turning on all the time for no reason.. you then need to replace the turn signal stalk. The relay is 40-50 from a dealer (i dont know if autozone will have them.. check there first). The stalk is about $300 more.. so just replace the relay and sell the car before you start getting the other major electrical problems.
