BMW Enthusiasts! HELP!?

Question:
I own a 2001 BMW 325CIC (conv) I have the sports pkg, with a manual top. There seems to be a trick on the "sequence" on how to open the top. everything works fine except the tonneau cover won't latch shut. I have taken the car to the BMW dealer twice they "fix" it (no parts), when I call them to tell me how its done they tell me I have to bring the car in, $220.00 later it works.
