It could just be trash in the engine block. The first thing to do is to go to an auto store and run fuel injector cleaner through the car. All you do is buy it and put it in the gas tank. It may be many things. Oil, Rod and also, it may be a Water Pump or something. IF, you use good safely you can raise the hood and listen. Take a piece of pipe or very long screw driver and put it against different areas and listen to the other end, believe me you will hear it. Just be careful around the moving parts and belt. IF, it a rod, you can remove the oil fill cap and just listen to the hole, if, you can get your ear down there, you will know, it be louder. Just be careful and watch your hair and clothes.
