My first car was a 2000 Alero. It served it's purpose and now that I don't have it anymore, I do miss it from time to time. But it was not a great car--I recommend looking into something else. I had it for 4 years and replaced my rotors twice, my cruise control stopped working, my shifter button fell out of the automatic shifter, and the steering wheel would violently shake everytime I stopped (but it wasn't due to bad rotors). Everytime I took it for inspection I cringed, wondering what else would need to be fixed. Everyone that I know that has one also has a lot of problems. I feel that all GM cars are the same way. I recommend looking into something known to last like a Toyota or Honda--they may cost more up front but it will save you in the long run--money and time. They are almost identical to a Pontiac Grand Am - decent carWhat make's a car not street legal?
I kknow a few people that used to own them and with not very good experiences. I know some people with Pontiac Grand am's as well same thing. Stay away from Kia and older Hyundais.Who knows how is Nissan Patrol?
We've owned a 2004 Grand Am for over a year with no major or minor problems. It has the 2.2 four. Avoid the 3.4 six as these are prone to blowing head gaskets. Aleros are not a very highly rated car in the reliability department and neither is the Grand Am for that matter. But we've liked ours.Mercedes CLK 320 interior trim?
