i have a 91 camaro rs with a 5spd that i have recently bought and went through but not to long ago it has been acting up. i thought it wast eh clutch and pressure plate so replaced those but heres what happens, when you first start it its fine but when it gets alittle warm the motor start to like hesitate and when driving it the service engine light comes on and i mean you r being thrown back and forth in your seat youc ant give it any throttle or it gets worse any ideas

check fuel pressure as well as volume and check for bad sparkplugs and wires tps sensor will do it tooThe codes stored in the pcm might be helpful in diagnosing the drivability problem the car has ,also ck the fuel pressure

I have the same engine in my Caprice and I sufferd the same problem! The car started fine and idoled smooth even in cold weather . however, after the car reached full opp. temp and I put a load on it ie starting from a stop , going up hill the engine would cut in and out . I spent 2 months trying to fix the problem and replaced the fuel pump, TPS sensor,MAP sensor, ignition module,o2 sensor, Catalitic converter, the entire distrbuter, all the wireing harnesses for the ignition system, the ignition key and its harnesses,I even replaced the main engine computer and just about everything but the engine itself!. The problem just wouldnt go away!. So, after spending $2300. on parts and labor a 16 year old kid from my neighborhood came over and replaced the spark plug wires and the car ran like new agan! the cost... $17.95. I didnt figure the spark plug wires as the car didnt miss at idol or start up!.I thought if you had bad spark plug wires the car would missfire at all times but I know know this is not true!.Try the plug wires and get back to me and let me know how it works out! ps. if you need any parts for that engine let me know as I now have a trunk load of extra ones that work like new!Like the one said-don't throw parts at it! Find an old timer that knows how to actually diagnose a problem!
First and foremost do a complete tuneup-plugs,wires,air oil and fuel filter,cap and rotor.
