I was looking at a 87' or 88' Buick Grand National Engine (3.8 with up to 280 hp) and the pistons were huge. I suggest rebuilding it. Get the pistons bored out as big as mechanically possible. U might have 2 upgrade your cam shaft, & intake. Also, u can add some headers. That always frees up HP cause it allows the engine 2 breathe better. Also, check 2 see if u can use an intercooler with a carburated engine. That would make the engine run a lot cooler. Last but not least, Flush the Radiator. Put one gallon of antifreeze. Next add this new stuff call "Replensish" I think. Ask your local Parts store about it (Advanse Auto Parts preferably). It says "use instead of water". Beware, it is NOT antifreeze. It looks just like antifreeze, but it is not. It replenishes your cooling system, making your car run cooler, which should make you go a little faster.
