The truck came with P265/70R17 tires on it. They are ready to be replaced. I want to make the truck look a little beefier even though it is not a 4x4.

You must have bought the truck used because the original tire size that came with that truck is 245/70R17. I would check the tires on the truck right now and see if they are coming close to rubbing any part of the truck. Turn the wheels back and forth all the way in both directions and check If you half anything less than an inch of clearance anywhere. If it seems close, you'll probably need some kind of lift. I have a friend with a 4x2 2004 Dodge Ram quad cab(pretty much the same type of suspension) and he has a 6 inch lift in the front and 4 inches in the back and he has 33" tires on it, which in metric size is like a 295/70R17. Also take this into consideration... Different tires made by different brands may have the same size printed on the side, but if you actually measure them.. Sometimes they can be a LOT bigger. That said... If the tires are worn down right now that could mean that they could be worn down below they're ACTUAL size when they were new... If you put the EXACT same size tire on it(new tires), it is possible that it would give that exact "beefy" look that you are looking for.
