Advantage to the 850 is the body, it's safeDisadvantages to the 850 is the 5 cylinder engine and a turbo. I was never a fan of the 5 cylinder Volvo engine especially the turbo. They would always come into the shop for mostly electrical problems. Try in get your hands on a 740, 940 or 960 if you want an older Volvo. Stay away from Volvo after 1999. Ford took them over and quality went in the toilet.
