Yes they are but what year in particular?I've had an '89 for over a year, and it's been a good car.
About a week ago, I heard on the radio that the magazine Car and Driver has rated the top 10 vehicles (sudans, SUV, etc.) Toyota and Scion (a Toyota vehicle) won 8 of the 10 categories. I am not sure if the Celica was one of the vehicles, but Toyota's are GREAT cars. I wish I had bought a Toyota and not a Chrysler.

only issues I have seen on them is if it has a sunroof, it might leak. otherwise the bumpers and mirrors tend to dull out easy. past that, many parts, aftermarket parts/items for the car and they still hold their value well, even if old.

Best car ever! I have owned tons of different cars, most of them Toyota's, for a reason.I had a 87 celica that lasted to 278,245 miles before the engine blew. Had an 88 camry that lasted to 264k+ miles before finally the front sub-frame rusted in two, but the engine ran fine with no misses and started up every time. My current car is a 96 celica that is about to hit 200k, and still runs great and burns no oil. Anyone will tell you that a Toyota engine is bullet proof. Most Toyota's available with turbo have forged pistons and piston rods from the factory, and they are the best. For example a 94-98 supra will hold the biggest aftermarket turbo that greddy makes on the stock bottom end, the T88. great car. i owned a 2001 celica gts and loved. it only thing was i was tired of putting in premium gas since it was the bigger engine so i traded it in for a 2005 corolla and love that too. before that i had a 88 4runner with over 257,000 miles on it and only reason got rid of that cuz of the rusty body. toyota is the best out there!! go toyota or go home!More Questions & Answers ...
