Question:
my 99 f250 dome light will stay on even when i shut the door. i checked the switch to see if it was switched to the ON position and no it was not. checked the door triggers for the dome light and they seem to be fine. it turns off when i go over 10 mph but then comes back on when i come to a stop. also my rear signals turn off rather than working when i hit the turn signal. instead of blinking they turn the whole brake light out. im thinking its gotta be a relay or wiring somewhere but, i would have no idea where to look for those relays. anyone got any ideas?

You have 2 seperate problems. Start with the dome lamp. Is the door ajar lamp illuminated in the instrument cluster? If it is it's one of the door ajar switches. They are located in the door latches. Spray penetrating fluid into the lathces to lube them up. Open and close the doors multiple times and relube the latches. If it doesn't go off yet then you'll need to remove the door panels and unplug the switches in the door one at a time to determine which side is bad. Remember you need to latch the latches manually because you will have the doors open. Next is the turn signals. Likely is one of the wires broke off at the turn signal switch. The are more likely to break if truck has tilt column. Remove the cover and inspect two connectors on the switch. If ok can check electronic flasher relay(blue under dash near column and accelerator.Hot to set a clock on a 2005 ford escape?

I have a 1999 Ford Expedition, the dome light would flash on and off and the auto lock feature would lock and unlock. I sprayed the drivers door with WD40 and problem solved. I would give that a try..Spray pentrating oil in the door latches, open and close the doors fast with the outside handle in the open position, then the one that is stuck might release itself and light will go off
as far as the turn signal problem, i found an aftermarket connector with wires from my friendly neighborhood ford dealer that i had to solder together to the existing wiring harness. 99 f-250 superduty powerstroke. less than $15!
