I admire Lexus reliability, but what said of design?

Question:
Over at a friends house, they have cars(a LOT of em). A 1995LS, an SC400, an 300CE, a 911, and a few SUV's...

Should I buy a Porsche 914 or an Opel GT?(both cost the same)?

One thing I noticed. When you look at the profile of the Benz(it's a 1992), and compare it to the Lexus(and virtually any car), the design is timeless and still fresh. In reality, this car could pass off as new, whereas the Lexus design is dated. The 911 is another design which is eye candy even after 40-some years...yet it still works very well.

Ford taurous 94 how does the numbers go to the distorburtor cap to engine?

It's been since 1989 since Lexus has been here, but in 18 years, I can't say there is one of the designs that has or will stand the test of time.
The new designs look like morphed versions of prototypes which spend too much time in the sun.

How do I remove the rear 6x9 speakers in a 96 plymouth neon?

The cars may be very reliable, but I personally think the driving experience is lacking and numb.

How do u changeh the starter on a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I couldn't disagree more with the last post... I am a complete auto freak... I love cars, love modifying them, racing them, repairing them... and I love my IS300. I'd wanted one for a long time before I was able to get it. I think the design is gorgeous... think it's a beautiful car. I also love the new IS (250, and 350). I think their designs are very classic, and those are the ones that stand the test of time. My IS is a blast to drive and provides pretty much everything I want in a driving experience.

Would 20 inch chrome Polo Exclusive's fit on a 2001 Chevy Impala??

As far as there being a Lexus on every street corner... well thats because they are still running when they're 15 years old, unlike a Benz which is headed off to some scrap yard well before then.

My Chevrolet dealer is claiming that my needed repairs aren't covered by the powertrain warranty...?

I can't stand Mercedes, I think they are poorly made and are often bought just for the name (like a BMW, but sadly Benz doesn't hold a candle to them). The fact that they offer those little cheapo models for those who just want to have a Benz (kind of like the Porsche has the Boxster) is just sad to me...And aren't they owned by Chrysler now (Benz, now BMW)?? No way, I will stick to my Toyota.

Whats better a Ford Aspire or Geo Metro?

The Benz has decades of development and automotive excellence behind it. The Mercedes people have really progressed to the point where it is a meld of beauty and function. I agree the Lexus doesn't have the heart or soul of a Benz.

1988 -1992 Camaros???

I've always thought of Lexus as being the typical librarian...reliable, you can count on her to have your kids, but you won't have any fun with her. And the Benz would be like a hot stripper...not reliable at all, and maybe good for a few dates, but imagine all the fun you can have with her. Luckily unlike marriages, cars can be easily replaced after a few years when the love affair dies down :)

Is a corvette a good car to get?

I haved a friend who have had a few the past decade, and everytime we go out as a group of friends, people sort of "forget" about it. It's never mentioned, people don't tend to say "Oh Oh, lets take the Lexus!", it's usually "Lets see if wee can Squeeze into the Mustang.Lets take the Navigator! We'll take her BMW!".

Dose any one know where to find a ford truck myspace layout?

Because of the driving dynamics of the Lexi' (like a Buick) I've always perceived them as sort of a cop out. Such as those who just didn't want to deal with it, don't like cars, and they buy it cause it's the safe alternative.just because they "had to" get something.

Best side steps for a Nissan Pathfinder?

From the people I know that have a passion with automobiles...sure they'll recommend a Lexus, but they would never be caught buying one. They always buy something with soul and character.

My chevy silverado was just totaled, how are the ford 150"s?

I think that what you've said is an opinion. I still find the old LS and SC very good looking. Maybe not in a "like new" way, but I also don't see the 1992 Mercedes as new either. I think that the currnet GS, IS(-F), and LS will be looking good in twenty years from now. Lexus has really picked up pace as far as looks go. By the way, I see a lot of Mercedes' too, it's not just Lexus.

Where can i find rat rod automotive products online?

I couldn't agree with you more. Lexus is nothing more of a copy of Mercedes. They are a wanna be upstart brand, as are the people that buy them. Lexus cars have no soul or character. Keep in mind the Mercedes do have leading edge design & engineering that has Lexus playing catch up constantly. Really, what's a better car, S550 or LS 460, or SL 500 or SC 430. No contest- The Lexus lacks true inovation, engineering and in the end is a knock off.
