Something rattling on my 1997 ford ka2 ?

Question:
i have a ford ka2 and just rescently i have noticed a noise coming from under neath my car, i had a quick look under to see if anything was loose and there was a a thin pole with a rubber gizmo on one end... can anyone help me this is even though my description of the part in question is so vague... i thought it may be to do with the hand break as also my hand break light on the dash will constantly stay on and onli every now and again go off.. i would appreciate any help on diagnosing the problem and what can be done to fix it and how much the job would cost ? thanks aaron

look at your exhaust system they are prone to make noises

usually the heat shield between the exhaust and the under body of the car rattling of each other.usually can be bent back out of the way.
