Where can i rent a 2007 impala?
1. On old eclipses and talons during that time, you could take a 10 cent 12 volt LED light and touch the contacts to the two diagonally opposite metal terminals inside the plug where the diagnostic computer would jack in. The error code would flash on the light. You could look it up from there in the shop manual.
2. On a 92 supra, you can simply turn everything off. You use a small piece of wire to short across two specific terminals in the diagnostic jack input, then, turn on the car, but don't crank it. The engine diagnostic light in the dash will flash an error code that you can look up in the shop manual, or, on the internet.
