What tires fit best?

Question:
i just got a set of 18x8 motegi ff5 rims for my 2000 vw jetta. i recieved a free set of 225/45/18 tires. i'd like to put them on bc they were free...but will they scrub? the dire diameter is about 25.9 inches .7 inches larger than the recommended tire. is that big enough to make a difference?

It would probably be better to just go to a place that sells and installs tires and ask their opinion, a small local place (if there is one near you) is more likely to be honest with you rather than say they wont work and try to sell you their own tires.

they should fit but id check with a mechanic first but tell them you don't want there BS saying that they wont fit so they can just sell you there tires so always check with at least 2 mechanics before you go making any decisions
