Question:
I want to purchase a new car but im not sure which one would be the better buy. its either between a 06 nissan maxima or a 07 grand cherokee laredo. I really like the grand cherokee but we test drove one and when we started it it made a noise and as we drove it it smelled like burnt oil. I dont know if it was just that truck that just has something wrong with it or has anyone had any problems so far with their 07 grand cherokee? Im kinda skeptical about the cherokee because it was an 07 with about 13,000 miles and it was already making a noise as we started it. Has anyone had any problems with either car?

If you really like the Grand Cherokee then why cant you find another one and test drive it, thats what I would do. Or if you really like that one, there is plenty of warranty left on it if something is wrong with it. 13,000 miles can be done very easily if someone has a long drive to work, plus you have to figure that it could have been bought as early as July. Since June I have put 10,000 miles on just going to work. I live in the country and its 20 miles one way just to a Walmart.Need some feedback on 2002 honda civic ex 2 door coupe?
I always believe in buying what you want or you wont every be happy with it, and you will start car shopping again in 2 years or less.
I would go for the Jeep, or atleast look at another one. See to if you can take it to a Jeep dealer and have it looked at. Jeep dealers also have service contracts that you can buy on any vehicle, no matter the brand, as long as you buy it before 36,000 miles. Years ago I had that and when something went wrong I paid $50 and they fixed it.
Are replacing the bearings and the rods in a 1995 Chevy Camaro expensive and time consuming?
Ask yourself this question. Do you have children and live in an area that has a large population of SUV's? Do you want to be in a small car against a SUV in an accident? One noise in one car test drive does not condemn all of them. I unfortunately was witness to a Grand Cherokee Major accident against a brick wall. There were survivors. You want to drive the new car a long time? Check for yourself the cost of replacement parts. Brakes, Water pump, alternator and more.

You really didn't give us specifics on HOW you use the vehicle or for what purpose. In general, the Jeep will provide you with better view of the road ahead due to higher seating, and also 4X4 capability - is that important to you? The Maxima will give better fuel economy and is more comfortable for seating 4 people in my opinion. What kind of Brake Fluid should I use in my Ford Thunderbird?
With the limited info you provided (and the problems with the Jeep and oil smell) I would say the Maxima because it has the best V6 engine in the world, good quality control, and will hold its value well. If you would like 4X4 capability then maybe look for another Jeep.

Nissan Maxima is good, but Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are better.
Get a camry or accord, forget about the jeep or anything else american, they are made by lazy and stupid UAW workers that earn 100k a year for doing things with a bad attitude
you cant compare jeep to nissan theyre totaly different it all depends on what your looking for if you want something with more space and a bigger engine go with the jeep if your looking for something sportier go with the nissan
How do I change the time(clock) on my 2001 Honda Civic LX ?
Have had two Maxima SE's. They're great. Go much faster than they have any business going. Passing trucks on the highway no problem. Gas mileage not too bad. The new ones are really nice looking. Very quiet and tight corner handling. Awesome stereo system. Comforts and amenities galore.I love Jeeps, but Wranglers are the Jeep for me. If you're looking for comfort (Cherokee or Maxima) the Max is the way to go. However, if you would benefit from a 4X4 you may want to take that into consideration.
