my engine check light came on because of the camshaft position sensor
Answers:
Why does my LS1 V8 Knock like a Diesle Engine so Much??
it sends a signal back to the ecu so the computer knows when to fire off spark and inject fuel, while there is a base map for these, the constant feed back provided by this and other sensors allows varied and more efficint opperation of both fuel and ignition systemsI have a 1988 K5 Chevy blazer 4x4, what Fram Oil filter do i use?
If your check engine ligth is on because of the camshaft sensor it probably means that your engines timing migth be sligthly, the sensore is damaged or the head is warp or in other words out of shape wich results in the camshaft either moving in to close to the sensor or is moving away from it. Oh and like the other guy said the sensor provides the controle module or cpu of the car to know when exactly to send signals to the spark plugs to fire and the injectors to provide fuel. It also knows the position of the valves and with the rigth timing the position of the piston but theres another sensor for that wich is the crankshaft. :-)More Questions & Answers ...
