I used to be a mechanic manily on mustangs, don't know to much about rice burners, but it's pretty much the same priciple. I was thinkning about a chip, cold air intake, full exhaust ( no cat). I figure that'll boost me up another 30 ponies on top of the stock 130. "But for a 2.0L -- I'm sure theres some more hidden power. -- Without getting a turbo. Any advise would be much appreciated. Oh...I forgot to mention that's it's an automatic :-( ....I know people, but the car was given to me and It's in ABSOLUTE MINT CONDITION w/38,000m on it Thanks...Jason!

grrr auto's dont have that much power unless us change the gears your self you could get a CAI and exhaust i cant think of anything else for cheap yetwhat the hell is a rice bunner? you mean mean ricer? if so your driving a doge its an american piece of crap =P ohhh dont get a chip your not doing any major mods to need that and they waste gas!!
my stock integra had 142 b4 mods and in 1.8L 4 cylinder lol now it has around 250 and im not even done with it yet
by the way the more horses you try to get out you shorten the engines life!

You gotta ask yourself "Why should there be more power?' and "Why I need more power?" and "Why am I spending the extra money to find this hidden power when they(the car makers) could have put out the car with the maximum horsepower as they do have the test faucilities and the knowledge and the experience to do such a thing".It could be because they make like 20x's the profit on the speed accessories?
You got it for free. It is faster than walking. It keeps the rain off your head. Paying for tweaks is only asking for an early breakdown. It is an automatic.

Well, I will tell you right now that a chip is completely useless on dodge neons. They are proven not to work. Here is a great link that explains everything you need to know, it explains what you need to do in stages, but just cai and exhaust wont give you 30 ponies. First off I would start with a larger throttle body, cai, exhaust, under drive pulley, poly motor mounts, and possibly an after market computer. This should give you about 25 whp tops without adding a turbo. i own a shop and the 2.0 isn't a power house anyway but with a good exhaust mod on it and a good air intake and a hotter set of plugs in it,you will notice a lot of difference in the running of it,a good K&N air system helps those a lot,good luck with it,hope this helps.Were to buy wide body kit for BMW 325i?

K & N Air FilterDude, a Neon is NOT A RICE BURNER, only Japenese cars can be rice burners. My bro has an auto Neon with a 2.0 liter, and he put a new exhaust on it (sounds REALLY GOOD), perfomance headers, a K and N performance air intake, a Mopar Performance chip, and he rebuilt the heads. That thing is pushin' 230 ponies! It huals a**, and he has beat Mustangs!! He loves that car. So there are a few mods for ya. Don't sound so depressed, and WELCOME TO THE NEON FAMILY!
