The GTA was a limited production car and if I were you I would leave it stockForget the blower and go with the 'POOR MAN'S SUPERCHARGER" An NOS system with a progressive module (I think its MSDD) and remap the computer for more fuel and get the Firehawk breather system to let in more air. All this for less than $1000. Your suspension,rearend,and springs can handle it as we built these way stronger than the engine we put in. I would recommend using the IROC rear springs and Bilstein shocks as this combo was DYNOMITE!! And Yes the rearend we put in this car with rear discs and no paint on the housing(Looked rusted right of the truck like they came from a junk yard) can handle whatever ya put out. Forged gears and the same quality as the 12 bolts of earlier yrs

with a cutting torch and a lot of ingenuity anything can be put into a car but beware of the street legal rules. The Trans Am were originally built with a V8 in mind but GM opted for the V6 instead as a standard and the V8 as an option. Consult with a engine rebuild specialist/technician and GM specialist as far as how big to go with what you want to do. Good luck.

Yes you can. If you can't buy, you'll have to fabricate the motor mounts. The blower may be a trick though. You'll probably have to cut the hood. Headers may take some work too.

Plan on the following:
Complete new front clip. Rails mounts etc from firewall forward.
Reinforce complete body with roll cage type tubing to prevent uni body twisting.
Replace the complete drive train including axels and Differential as the standard ones are not built to take this 500 plus H.P.
Modifying and making new, engine compartment sheet metal components as well as modifying the hood. Best get a new lift off, Fibergalss hood with cowl and pre cut opening.
Project cost without engine cost upwards of $20,000 if you do it yourself.

If you have a Turbo V6 T/A with GTA option its Very rare ((VERY VERY RARE)) NONE where sold through Dealers til 1989 then it was a GTA Car Sold as a Turbo Trans Am (GNX) and also made it to be the Indy 500 Car for 1989... But its Just a Buick Grand National Drive train in a Trans Am.... And very fun to drive. I would fix it up the way it is and find another for the Monster Motor...

You will need a New Hood also.... There are over 4 different ones on the market for covering a blower engine... Or just add a Hood Scoop to your hood or have the blower sticking out.
