Help with my new 1996 chevy corsica?

well its not really a new car its my familys old car but my mom said that if i fixed it up and got it running again i could have it. so after a coupla of months of hard work and a brand new motor later i have the car running. Unfortunately now the gauges (speedometer,gas meter, etc) aren't moving. Well all the lights are fine they turn on and everything but the needles don't move! I haven't tampered with that part of the car at all so I dont know whats wrong with it. please dont answer "go talk to a mechanic" or something like that i really need a serious answer

.Check to see ,with a test light, if you have power at the gauges fuse with key in on position.If so ,the ground is not grounded.If not,thier is a wire that needs to connect to the alternator that was left off or check check the fuse links at the starter.One could be broken or burned into.
