Is it true that few mechanics will work on a Subaru except the Subaru dealers because of the way they are made

How can I turn off the "lowash" warning in my 2005 Jeep Liberty?

Subarus have some unique parts and designs that aren't necessarily hard to work on--they're just different from other makes. No other mass-market cars, for instance, have a longitudinal boxer engine coupled with an all-wheel drive system. Since Subaru is a relatively small make, parts (as well as the cars themselves) aren't particularly widespread. I think those are the elements that mechanics are a bit leery of.

I own a 1988 Honda Civic LX Sedan and love the car.?

Having said that, the Subaru engine and driveline don't often pose reliability problems, and from what I've seen (and done) other parts of the car are generally straightforward and easy to work on. I've had some work done on a '96 Legacy at non-Subaru dealers without trouble, although mechanics will often mention the relatively high cost of parts.

That is probably true, mainly because Subaru have incorporated the Boxer engine into their cars. These engines are different to ur average motor and would take special tools in order to work on.
