New Paint On Car?

Question:
I have a 2001 Cadillac that I was rear-ended in. I had to have the bumper and trunk replace along with other parts. The man in the body shop told me not to have the car waxed for 1 month. Any thing else I should know? The car has a Clear-Coat over the silver paint.

i own a repair shop ,and we also do paint work too,you shouldn't use any harsh chemicals or soap on it either for at least 30 days,it can cause the clear coat to turn yellow on it or in some cases get really dull,or it could even peel off,let it cure out real good before doing anything to it then it will be alright to wash and wax it,good luck i hope this helps.

If you must wash the car, just use clear water or a very mild soap. It's best just to leave it to cure before you do anything.
