They just renamed the 2007 Golf the Rabbit when they redesigned it.The rabbit came out in 1977. Supposedly because it was small and quick like a rabbit. Maybe not quick but peppie. It was a small fuel efficient gas or diesel car. It was named rabbit up until the mid 80's when VW changed the name to Golf. Now VW is going back to the Rabbit. Maybe it nostalgic, like bringing the Beetle back?
