there is a button on my BMW's A/C with "REST" writtin on it, it tuns the heater on only when the car is switched off, what is it for,, whats the point of turning on the heater on the car is off, and is it good or bad to press it before getting off the car , it works only for about 10-15 mins,, and the car is a 2000 525i BMW

well it sounds like a feature i would like to have. in the wintertime, sitting in the car usually means leaving it running to keep warm. the rest button allows the heat to be on without the engine running. enjoy it!What do you guys think about the pontiac solstice?

Normally, to have the heater on with the car off would require the key to be turned to the 'ON' position in the ignition.
