Question:
After I installed the new door, I spliced all the wires from the car, to the new car door and have no power. When I would wiggle some of the wires while I was trying to roll down the window, some of the wires touched and I noticed a few sparks and the window made a slight budge going down. Could I have messed up the ground, or I am I doing something wrong? When I connected the wires together, I just twisted them together. Should I be using another method? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Resplice the wires individually by color coding.Use 'bullet connectors' to splice them together. You can get an electrical kit that will have the crimping tool and several kinds of connectors cheap at Sears.Do not splice the wires back together directly, as they sometimes lose their connection. If you do it that way, you must solder them to get a tight and lasting connection.Better to use the connectors in such a tight spot to work.I would of done a cleaner job like clips or something or even a wire harness of some sort. but sounds like you shorted something out or actually melted a wire somewhere. time to sit down and trace each wire. use a meter, will go faster
