About an SS4 V6 petrol engine Mitsubishi Pajero, of 1997, what causes the red warning light to come on?

Question:
Engine oil was spilling in front of the engine (somewhat on the sides of the engine towards the front) and I had not knocked a rock. Because I was in a lonely strech of road full of hazards of attack, I drove the car to the nearest safe place (about 10 km). this caused the engine to knock.

Hello The red light is from 1 of two things. Both are cause for concern and immediate attention.
1st ... the engine is overheating ...and
2nd ... the oil pressure is dangerously low ... or
.
It could be nothing but a wire short (break in the wire harness) and all is well!
