Question:
I checked Camry, Altima V4, Mazda 6, Some chevy sedans, even Ford Mustang, their mirrors don't fold at all. It doesn't cost the auto makers too much money to make the mirrors foldable.

Installing BBK Shorty headers on a mustang?
You've mentioned American brands (or brands made for the American market).... I suppose they thought roads in the USA were large enough for cars to pass without having to fold your mirrors when parking.... As opposed to European cars, which all have folding mirrors... and some of our streets are pretty narrow and crowded to boot... ;)But, joking left aside, I can see no real reason, though.... I guess they just never thought of making them fold able.
And if you want folding mirrors.... get a European car...
