I have a 1964 Chevy impala with a 355ci out of a 69 CAMERO.The problem im having is that it wont start ,ive check timing more than once everthing is on, so i tried spark plugs i have spark i know that cuz the msd ingintion zap the sh%t out of me.So i pulled the spark plugs out and just turn motor over and there is alot of gas shoting out of cyclinder 7/8 andi mean alot of gas.Than i took of the 750 edelbrock carb and put a 625 demon and still the same thing.If any ideas please do tell thanks.

Hey Man ,LOVE THOSE "64,s!! I got one . Anyway, I had this problem once when I dropped in the distributor 180 deg off as this sounds like your problem. Or it could be off a tooth or 2 . So ,pull out the distributor and crank it over till the timing mark is on zero pull out #1 plug and see if the piston is on top. Could also be a cracked distributor cap or even moisture inside the cap. Could also be that the plugs are fouled out from too much gas and not being able to start.Also ,with an HEI ign. the plugs need to be gapped at .045 instead of .035. Oh by the way, do you know where I can get a good frame for a 2 dr Hardtop ? Sure would appreciate it Oh yea, one other thing ,is the rotor button on right?
